job done. let’s move on. notebook sans cdrom running windows xp. need linux on it. specifically ubuntu. used the usb stick to transfer the ubuntu iso to the machine. installed ubuntu in the windows partition by way of wubi. now i want a full ubuntu install. so i squeezed the windows partition to make space for delicious linux. boom i got ubuntu running on its own partition thus i don’t need windows now. boom i used gparted to kick windows into kingdom come. partition was formatted into the most efficient ext3 file format. edited the grub menu to remove any trace of windows on boot up. and voila! this machine on which am typing at this moment in time and space is a linux beast.

but guess what Bobby. My own toshiba died a day after. lol. gotta bring it to the shop in manhattan. still got the warranty though. the gods pissed on me.
